Ontario County Office for the Aging
Home-delivered meal volunteers are needed! Home-delivered meal volunteers can deliver as little as once a week, once a month, or be an occasional substitute. The department works closely with the community to identify and meet the needs of youth ages birth to 21. This entails a variety of methods someone with a human service interest might enjoy. Volunteer opportunities include: - Special Occasion Need - These occur at various times of the year. Some are short-term; others are longer. Pathway Home of the Finger Lakes, Inc.
Pathway Home is a hospice home in Seneca Falls. We serve 2 residents who have a life expectancy of 3 months or less and are on in-home hospice services. Volunteer opportunities include: direct care (provide hands-on care, 4 hour shifts available 7 a.m.-11 p.m. 7 days a week, flexible scheduling), grant writing research/letters of inquiry and proposal writing. Plant Materials Program
The Plant Materials Program (PMP) for the New York State Office of Parks Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP) produces native, regionally appropriate plant materials for environmental stewardship projects throughout State Parks. The PMP is based at Sonnenberg Gardens in Canandaigua, NY, where we propagate plants from seeds we collect from local natural areas. Volunteers will be aiding in seed collection and processing, plant propagation, and other greenhouse or fieldwork. (Updated 10/2023)

Transportation Companion - accompany a senior to their medical appointments. Background check required. Home Delivered Meals Drivers - volunteers provide the warm, human contact our seniors need & may be the only contact that senior has that day. Any level of commitment is welcome. Criminal background & driver’s license check required. Mileage is paid. Phone Friends - make brief, friendly phone calls to homebound seniors to provide emotional support & to enhance social contact. Rochester Folk Art Guild
We are an arts non-profit, intentional community and craft center located in Middlesex, NY. We offer public programming in areas of arts and culture, have multiple active craft studios, and have a residential population and a retreat center. Our community members range from toddlers to their 70's and we have need in many service areas. We are looking for volunteers for general support in areas like our farm and orchard; helping with maintenance projects; supporting events with things like set up, check in, and directing folks around our campus; administrative management of various projects and more.
