The Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's is the world's largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's care, support and research. Held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide and 3 locations in our region, this inspiring event calls on participants of all ages and abilities to reclaim the future for millions. We are looking for volunteers to help us with our Finger Lakes Walk to End Alzheimer's - held at FLCC in 2024! Blood Drive- Greet donors at blood drives, coordinate registration, serve refreshments & observe donors well-being following donations. Also opportunities to help market & recruit for campus blood drives. Community Preparedness- Learn what Red Cross Ready is & take that out to local community groups so they too may be prepared for any type of disasters. Disaster Action Team- Respond to local disaster incidents such as fires, floods, & ice storms. Take advanced training & respond to national emergencies. Bridges For Brain Injury
We need volunteers to help with our Wildlife Education program! Tasks include yard work, feeding animals, cleaning animal enclosures, and general maintenance/janitorial work. Volunteers can also assist with wildlife education programs in the community and help with social media, construction projects, and human services. Candidates Must: Be 18years or older; Be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions; Be able to respect and follow direction; Be able to commit to an agreed upon schedule; Be able to work independently. Candidates are interviewed and screened when accepted, and must undergo a volunteer orientation. Benefits: Up-close encounters with Native and Exotic Wildlife! Budding Readers
Budding Readers is an early literacy program serving Ontario County. We serve families with babies and young children. We provide free books and teach the importance of reading to young ones daily. We want children to begin school with readiness skills and a love of books. Many families are low-income with limited access to new books. With training and familiarity with BR, we will try to match your talents with our needs. Activities may include organizational tasks, book handling, talking with parents about the importance of daily reading, or delivering bundles of books in the school district communities we serve: Bloomfield, Canandaigua, Honeoye, Marcus Whitman, Midlakes, Naples, Red Jacket and Victor. Camp Good Days & Special Times
Summer Camping Programs: Give the gift of time to one of our camping programs. Volunteer to work as a camp counselor, kitchen staff, security, or assistant in one of our specialty areas (e.g. arts & crafts, woodworking, etc.) at our recreational facility on Keuka Lake. Year-round Programs and Events: All of the programs & services provided by Camp Good Days are offered free of charge for the participants, which is only possible through the generosity of so many individuals & organizations & the success of our many special fundraising events!
