Don't fall victim to clickbait
Don't click links that you didn't request or are from someone you don't know. Never enter your login information into a form that seems suspicious. For example, type in your bank website URL yourself. Don't fall victim to scammers links and fake sites.
Confirm a site is legit
To reveal where a link is attempting to direct you, hover your mouse over the link and it will display the real webpage address. Make sure it is a legit website before you click on it.
Use a password manager
We recommend the use of a password manager. There are many available. Search for "password manager" on Google, Bing, etc.
Secure your email account(s).
Hackers and scammers are everywhere online, including in your school, work, and personal email addresses.
A few tips to protect yourself:
- Don't use the same password for multiple websites or services.
- Keep banking and financial login information unique and secure.
- Make passwords hard to guess. For example, use a phrase like MyDogDoesNotHaveFleas4!
