Services and Resources

Building a culture that values diversity, equity, and inclusion requires collaboration between many offices, groups, and individuals. Below are some essential services and resources that make FLCC a welcoming and inclusive campus community.

DEI Support at FLCC

Please reach out to the following offices to receive personalized assistance and guidance in times of difficulty or unexpected hardship.

  • Academic Support and Access Programs (ASAP) provide assistance for students in need of academic tutoring, mentorship, and learning accommodations. As a student at FLCC, you have access to a wide range of academic support services, including a writing center, a math center, and a science incubator for subject-specific guidance. You can also take part in student skills workshops or schedule a one-on-one success strategy appointment to receive personalized assistance designed to help you plan for success.

  • FLCC offers free High School Equivalency (HSE) courses to assist adult learners in earning a diploma from the New York State Education Department. HSE courses are available in both English and Spanish and are open to out-of-school individuals who are age 16 and older. The program timeline is flexible to allow people with busy schedules to complete coursework on their own time. FLCC also provides free English as a Second Language (ESL) courses for non-native English speakers who want to improve their English language skills. Both HSE and ESL are available in-person and online.

  • Having a child care center on campus makes it easier for adults with children to earn a degree or certificate and take advantage of career training opportunities. The FLCC Child Care Center provides educational and developmental activities for children 18 months through preschool. A variable fee scale and payment schedule of options are available for low-income students.

  • Counseling is available for students who want to discuss life challenges affecting their academic performance. Our counselors serve as confidential listeners who provide guidance to students. Reach out to Counseling Services to clarify issues, resolve conflicts, and learn new ways of coping.

FLCC students also have access to TimelyCare — a telehealth program that provides 24/7 virtual access to medical and mental healthcare professionals at no cost to enrolled students. To learn more and activate your free account, you can download this guide, watch a demo video, or visit the TimelyCare website.

  • Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) is a state-funded initiative that provides support services to students from economically and academically disadvantaged families. In addition to some financial support for books and school supplies, EOP offers students additional assistance through a three-week orientation program, ongoing academic tutoring, and personalized counseling services.

Note: first-time college students must meet specific academic and financial guidelines to be considered for EOP admission, which can be determined by completing and returning an application and financial eligibility form.

  • More than 80% of our students receive some form of financial assistance to reduce the cost of a college education. As part of the SUNY system, FLCC participates in many federal and state financial aid programs and maintains a low cost per credit. The Financial Aid office can assist students and their families with navigating important financial decisions and identifying the best scholarships, grants, and loans for any given situation.

Visit Flick's Place in Room 3260 to make a request. Anyone in the FLCC community is eligible to donate.

  • FLCC has a Veterans Advisory Council (VAC), which is a campus-wide advocacy group to support veteran students and their families. The VAC hosts an annual veteran's dinner, 5K run, educational series, and the Veteran Day Memorial event. The organization also invites speakers who represent veteran services in Ontario County and assists students in making connections while pursuing their education. This ensures that student veterans have access to a fulfilling and successful college experience. FLCC has also received a military friendly designation each year since 2014.
