Child Care Center

The FLCC Child Care Center provides developmentally appropriate activities and curriculum in a safe, fun, and nurturing environment. We accept children 18 months to 5 years of age.

Affordable, Quality Care for Your Kids

What We Do

Early childhood is precious time in your kid's developmental stages. Children learn so much about the world during these formative years. Our goal is to provide opportunities that will enhance the learning of the whole child in a caring and supportive environment.

  • Curiosity, Independence, and Self-Confidence

Our center encourages children to be curious, comfortable with themselves, friendly with others, independent, and self-confident. We help children be aware of the world around them and nurture their growth. We plan child-specific activities and experiences while recognizing each child as both an individual and a member of a group.

    Age-Appropriate, Child-Specific Enrichment

Children benefit from a variety of developmentally appropriate activities built into their daily schedules. We provide programming in science, art, music, physical fitness, dramatic play, language development, nutrition, and health instruction. Our daily schedule includes free play, stories, outdoor recreation, rest, and meals, as well as other structured activities to meet each child's needs.

    Special Events and Seasonal Fun

Children regularly participate in seasonal activities and special events, including walking trips to the college, birthday celebrations, and college-sponsored events. Our location and association with Finger Lakes Community College give our children easy access to professionals excited to share their knowledge of health and nursing, environmental conservation and preservation, food service, library science, the arts, and more.

    • Fall activities include an open house and feast, as well as visits from a dentist, librarian, and fire department.
    • Spring activities include an Earth Day planting, Muffins with Mommy for Mother's Day, a visit from the Magic Guy, and our preschool graduation celebration.

Health and Safety is Our Top Priority

    • Our center meets or exceeds state-required adult-to-child ratios (5:1 in the toddler room, 7:1 in the three-year-old room, and 8:1 in the four-year-old room).
    • Children who attend the center must feel well and be able to participate fully in our program. Children who are sick stay home so we can maintain healthy classrooms.

Qualifying families can take advantage of our state and federal subsidies to lower the cost of childcare. Explore our financial aid and grant options below. Reach out to the Child Care Center Director for more information.

  • If you receive either a federal or state financial aid award letter (e.g., for TAP, PELL, SEOG, loans, etc.) and have available financial aid, you may choose to use part or all of it to pay your childcare tuition and fees. This payment option can only be used if your financial aid is approved, and award letters are submitted to the childcare center in a timely manner.

Please contact the Child Care Center Director for more information and the required document.

  • The Child Care Block Grant Subsidy is a federal program administered by the Department of Social Services that pays up to 95% of your childcare tuition if your income qualifies. Two-parent families and single-parent families may apply. You or your spouse can be working, and you can be attending school. You may use this grant for school or for employment outside of school.

  • The FLCC Child Care Center accepts payment from the area Department of Social Services (DSS). Please contact your county DSS directly to see if you qualify for funding. Contact the Child Care Center Director if you need assistance.
