This program provides a path toward working with children, adolescents, persons with disabilities, seniors, or others who have specialized care needs. You'll develop communication and counseling skills needed to work in a community agency providing health, education, and welfare services to the public.

Help clients and their families find the assistance they need with a career in human services. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics expects demand for human and social service professionals to grow 12% by 2031, much faster than the average for all occupations. The rise in job opportunities is due to the continued expansion of residential care facilities, new disability support programs, and additional social services for families in crisis.

If you're considering a bachelor’s degree after FLCC, our academic advisors will help you connect with four-year schools and explore transfer options. We'll assist you in selecting courses that efficiently meet the requirements for both FLCC and your future college.
- Joint Admissions Agreements: These allow first-year students to gain admission to both FLCC and participating four-year schools at the same time. Gain peace of mind knowing your next step is set while you complete your associate degree with us.
- Transfer Articulation Agreements: These partnerships ensure your credits from FLCC will transfer directly and seamlessly to a partner four-year school. You can enter a bachelor’s program with full junior standing, saving you time and money.

Our human services program partners with at least 25 sites for internships and field placements each semester. You'll learn from experienced social workers in one of these professional settings, gaining real-world knowledge and practical career insight. Some of these community sites include:

- The Community Action Program
- The American Red Cross
Join Human Services Club
Human Services Club fosters the professional development of students interested in this field of study. The club collaborates with local community organizations to enrich civic life in Canandaigua and assist those in need. Past activities include creating blessing bags and partnering with the College Experience Program through The Arc Ontario.
