Program Overview

Public speaking, writing, and business leadership skills are valuable to employers across all industries. Coursework focuses on content creation, media literacy, and ethics as well as technical skills like video production and screenwriting. You'll work with innovative audio, film, and broadcast technology under the supervision of experienced and supportive faculty.

By the end of the program, you'll be ready to transfer to a four-year school or pursue an entry-level career in media and communications.

  • TV Studio Experience

    Gain hands-on experience with digital video production in our 900-square-foot on-campus television studio. You'll plan and write scripts, shoot video footage, edit digital media files, and distribute content across various platforms. Course assignments reflect the projects you'll receive in the workplace, introducing you to the full media production cycle — including research, interviewing, recording, and editing.

    Regional Internship Opportunities

    Complete an internship in advertising, journalism, public relations, scriptwriting, or video production while earning your degree. Some of our internship partners include CMAC (live events center), FLTV (cable television), Dixon Schwabl (advertising agency), and a variety of other regional media outlets.
